Education
New Hampshire State Representative Eric Schleien:
- Voted to prohibit the state from forcing local school systems to implement the common core standards.
- Voted to require local school districts to adopt a policy allowing an exception to specific course material based on a parent’s or legal guardian’s determination that the material is objectionable. This gives parents more control of their children’s education.
- Voted for a bill that would prohibit the state board of education from adopting rules that require a school district to comply with a federally mandated curriculum, method of instruction, or statewide assessment program which is not fully paid by federal funds.
